Watercolor Workshop with Sketching Summits
Join Sketching Summits for an in-person watercolor painting workshop on Saturday, March 29 from 12:00-2:00. This workshop is great for beginners and experienced artists alike!
Artist Heidi Nisbett of Sketching Summit will lead this 2 hour workshop, providing a step-by-step lesson on how to sketch out the predetermined subject matter (a North Carolina landscape) and paint it in with watercolor. This workshop will provide you with the skills you need to maintain a creative practice of field painting, with an emphasis on painting in nature in order to practice mindfulness, notice your surroundings, and connect with our wild spaces.
Workshop Only fee includes the 2 hour lesson where participants are welcome to use the their own supplies from home, or work from provided communal supplies (participants will take home their finished paintings). Everything you need will be provided, just show up ready to paint! $35
Workshop Fee with Take-Home Supplies includes the 2 hours lesson, a 16 color set of Viviva watercolor paints, water cup, paintbrush, and 4"x6" sketchbook of watercolor paper: everything you need to participate in the workshop and continue your creative practice at home or on the trail! These supplies are yours to take home and are a $45 value. $65
The fine print: This workshop needs a minimum of 3 people to run. If the minimum is not met by a week before, the workshop will be canceled and a full refund will be provided. If your plans change, you may cancel your spot and receive a full refund up until March 26. If your cancel after March 26, you will receive a 50% refund. Any cancelations day-of (March 29) will not receive a refund. Day-of sign ups at the event will be available if space allows. This event is indoors. This event is appropriate for most ages, including kids 10 or older.

This exhibit, once featured in a special showcase at the Culture & Heritage Museums in York County, highlights the breathtaking moments captured in and around the Catawba River. Riverfest
Riverfest will start in McAdenville at 11 am with music, art and vendors. Then you can join the floating concert (ticketed) with Hiram down the South Fork to Cramerton. The music will continue in Confluence until 8:15pm. But don’t leave just yet, Baxter’s DJ Service will be hosting karaoke to round out the evening.
All concerts are free to attend, except for the Floating Concert which will be a ticketed event.

Human Powered Movement South Fork Sampler Event
The "Sampler" is back in multisport action on June 1, 2025!
This scavenger hunt style adventure race features 2 different beginner friendly options to choose from. Live Music with Woodshed Collective
The Woodshed Collective is a Bluegrass Jam Band playing Traditional Bluegrass songs, along with Rock, Americana, and Folk tunes with a Bluegrass flavor. Rob Kirby (Banjo and Vocals), Matt Bartels (Guitar and Vocals), Chip Whitfield (Mandolin) and Dan Leich(Fiddle) make up the band.
The band started out as a weekly Jam circle in the "Woodshed" behind Chip's house and now plays a few gigs a year for nonprofit fund raiser events for the Foothills Conservancy and the Lake James Environmental Association, as well as a few gigs a year at Camp Lake James in Nebo, NC on Friday nights in the Summer.
Three members of the band live on the Catawba River so they understand the importance of the mission of Catawba Riverkeeper! We are excited for their support and for their performance!

Welcome to Silent Book Club. If you’re looking for a way to meet other readers while also getting some reading done, look no further. We’re excited to host this once a month so that you can have some dedicated reading time in a new, fun spot alongside other book lovers.
This book club is the easiest one you’ll ever be a part of because there’s no pressure. Simply bring whatever book you’re currently reading, come by, and read it. That’s it.
Here’s a break down of how we’ll spend the time together:
2:00-2:30pm – People arrive, order drinks, share what they’re reading
2:30-3:30pm – Quiet reading hour
3:30-4:00pm – Optional socializing, or just keep reading

Live Music with Falllift
Steven Hall (Swim In the Wild) and Micah Cottingham (MICVH) began co-writing music in the fall of 2020. After an unexpected quarantine allowed for a boost in creativity, the two decided their side project should go full-time, coming together to form the band falllift.
The combination blends authenticity and refreshing honesty into a modern sound. Drawing inspiration from the experiences in life that connect each and every one of us, falllift aims to leave their audience with an air of community, comfort, and hope.

Live Music with Michael Cansler
Michael Cansler is a Singer Songwriter based out of Hickory, NC. He is a first generation Singer Songwriter. Even though no one in his family played an instrument, his parents always had music playing in the house as a child. Music form Hank Williams to the Four Seasons, found Michael sitting in front of the stereo listening to the words and melodies.
His lyrics paint pictures of small-town life, nostalgia and relatable life experiences. Michael's gravelly voice and storytelling ability invite listeners to journey through familiar landscapes and bygone eras. His debut EP 25 was released in 2018. His sophomore effort is a four song EP called Small Town that came out in June 2022. Followed by the release of two singles in 2023, Modern Day Daniel Boone and Proof. His stories are real and full of emotion.

Live Music with the Co-Conspirators
Confluence is proud to present the Co-Conspirators, joining us from Canada on their first US tour.
The Co-Conspirators perform folk/singer-songwriter music with elements of bluegrass, country, blues, gospel, and general roots music. With heavy emphasis on vocal harmonies, this duo has been compared to The Weavers, Ian and Sylvia Tyson and Richard and Linda Thompson. They perform a perfect mix of originals, traditional folk, and old-time-favourites covers. Canadian folk music legend Valdy said they sounds like they have been singing together their whole lives.
Described as modern day troubadours, The Co-Conspirators have spent the last 5 years performing at hundreds of house concerts, folk societies, festivals, seniors and community centres, bars, and restaurants across Canada, and are now spreading their wings to bring their songs to the US.
The Co-Conspirators have released 3 albums to date, "Shadowing the Organ Tuner, "The Unreliable Narrators", "Half a Tank of Gas and a Full Case of Beer" (a Fred Eaglesmith Tribute), was release in July 2023. Their 4th release - War is a Racket and Other Irrefutable Truths - will be release Jan 16th, 2025.
