COLIN CUTLER

A Greensboro-based songwriter toting a guitar and banjo, Colin Cutler's music spans the breadth of Americana, from Appalachian oldtime to blues to oldschool country to folk rock, with lyrics rooted in the earthy storytelling traditions of the South, his Pentecostal upbringing, and literature.

Winner of the 2022 Emerging Artists competition at the Susquehanna Folk Festival, he will be taking his band to the invite-only 2023 Merlefest Band Competition. His 3 albums and EP have landed plays on NC and Virginia public radio, the BBC, and community and college stations around the region, placement in the British film Zomblogalypse, mentions in No Depression, Americana Highways, and the Alternate Root, and have taken him to gigs from North Carolina’s Martha Bassett Show, Antlers and Acorns Songwriters Festival, Haw River Ballroom, and NC Folk Festival, to the Jalopy Theatre’s Roots N Ruckus in Brooklyn, City of York Folk Festival (UK) and Romanian National Museum of Literature--and plenty of breweries and farmer's markets in between. He has also shared stages with Caroline Spence, Buffalo Nichols, David Childers, and Catherine Backus (catherine the great).
