Bill Noonan is a veteran of the Carolina music scene, from his stint as leader and chief songwriter of the Rank Outsiders (regional Americana pioneers who gained national notice in the late ‘90s) to his recent work under his own name, including the well-received 2006 CD release “Catawba City”. As a songwriter, Noonan has penned a deep-rooted original catalog encompassing core American musical styles: folk, blues, country and western, and the hybrid that he tags "traditional rock 'n' roll." On stage Noonan is at home as either a band leader or solo performer, known for his spontaneity, wit, tasty acoustic licks and fiery Telecaster chops. Currently at work with producer Mark Lynch (David Childers, Lou Ford) on his follow up to “Catawba City”, Noonan has staked his claim to an authentic and highly-listenable roots-rock sound, rich in themes and colors of the Southeastern back roads.
